Our prime aim and responsibility is to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of all children in our care…
New Beginnings aims to provide a secure, stimulating and caring environment that is welcoming…
New Beginnings Childcare opened to the public in September 2007, and since we have built a sustainable company and pride ourselves on the good reputation we have formed since our first day of opening, due to our supportive parents in recommending us to their families and friends we now have children who access our care from Consett and into the wider Durham area.
We work in close partnership with health visitors, family workers, local schools, toddler groups, and other professionals within the childcare sector.
We are committed to providing the highest standards of care in a comfortable atmosphere while actively promoting equal opportunities and continuing to provide effective learning and opportunities for all children.
New Beginnings nursery is where children can discover, achieve and express themselves through play and where mothers/fathers or carers can feel confident to leave their child in safety.
We recognise that a child’s first impressions of the world begin at home and it is therefore vital that both the nursery and parents work together. Parents are encouraged to share their ideas with us to help shape and mould the service we provide.

“Children demonstrate their physical skills outside. They play on climbing apparatus which includes a fun obstacle course and have plenty of space to run around”
“Children benefit from good settling-in procedures, which are based around their individual needs. This helps to support them in the transition between home and the nursery”
“Pre-school children acquire the skills needed in preparation for school and staff are helping them to become successful learners.”
“Children are relaxed and confident in the nurturing care of staff. They show a secure sense of belonging and develop strong bonds with their key person”
“Staff are warm and caring, and provide children with lots of support and praise. This helps children to develop close emotional attachments with the adults caring for them”
